Ncuti Gatwa Doctor Who and spin offs

Susan was supposed to be at the party too, she is 84, there won't be another series till 2027, they are really pushing their luck that she will still be around by then.

From what I read, it's Disney that's been dragging their feet on underwriting another season, not BBC. I'm sure BBC doesn't want the franchise to die, so if Disney pulls out, it would just take them that much longer to get the next season locked down.

Disney ruins everything.

Disney is out, but we will get a Christmas specials, next year.

14 months and counting.

DING DONG THE DISNEY WITCH IS DEAD.

Another lomg gap while they figure out where to go from here, so RTD will have a Christmas sendoff that will probably be silly but not unsatisfying, and then the slow trickle of news about new showrunner and eventually new Doctor.

Who will be funding a Christmas send off? The Beeb? You think they'll give him money for this turkey?

There's five more episodes left on the Disney deal, and that's spent on "The War Between The Land and The Sea." That's out next year. We think.

Doctor Who is dead. I'm sad to say it, but it's true.

You don't need money to make doctor who, good d writing and good acting goes a long way, if you can get both of those that is.

Yup. If I had to pick the best season of Dr. Who, I'd say it was the first season with Leela. If I had to pick a season to introduce someone to the idea of Dr. Who, I'd pick the first season of Tom Baker as The Doctor. "The Horror of Fang Rock" is one of the best stories and the villain is a glowing beach ball wrapped in fake spiderwebs or something.

Pretty much anywhere in the Baker Era is a good place to start, except maybe his last season which was getting weird because JNT was trying to catch up to Star Wars level effects.

But let's be honest, it was Tom who carried many of those stories on the strength of his acting skills... especially the ones with Lalla Ward. I've often heard those two were ad libbing a lot of lines.

It gets too campy IMO by the time K9 shows up. I allow the story after that, "Image of the Fendahl" because K-9 isn't in it and it is a good classic Tom Baker story. And there are some good episodes after. "Family of Blood"(?)--The Great Vampire story is one. Interestingly, that was supposed to go where "Horror of Fang Rock" was but the BBC was doing a "Dracula" movie or something and instead of considering that complementary marketing like we would today, they thought the two stories would compete against each other. Somehow. But eventually it just becomes The Tom Baker Show. And there's nothing wrong with that, but to me it feels less like Dr. Who and more like Tom Baker doing whatever he feels like.

My nuWho is relatively limited, due to not having cable or streaming. I got to watch a couple...whatisname...before Tennant...his stories. And a few Tennant stories. Then I got to see the last Tennant story and thought it was god-awful. I went "well, I guess I don't watch Dr. Who anymore. :( " But since I figured Matt Smith's first story would air next, I watched that and it was everything I loved about Who. Got to watch a good chunk of his first season and found it to be great.

Eccleston! Christopher Eccleston. This is why I don't try out for "Jeopardy!" anymore .

I only know of new Who. Loved Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith. The rest were just meh.

Billie Piper Doctor teaming up with the David Tennant Bisxual Regeneration Doctor then they fuck at the end and she instantly has a baby and it's Danny Dyer and he says "I'm the new Doctor, you mugs!" then there aren't any more episodes until 2029.

It's not my idea but someone on Reddit suggested the Rose Doctor meets Susan and at the end of the Christmas episode they both regenerate, and we have an older male Doctor and a teenage granddaughter ready to start the new who the way the old who started.

It was really weird that Susan appeared in the Eurovision episode then wasn't seen or mentioned in the two-part finale (I know it's because they had to do extensive reshoots after Gatwa decided to leave.)

I'm glad that's not your idea, because that idea is fucking retarded.

"State of Decay". The Great Vampire story was "State of Decay".
