What game are you playing on a Nintendo console at the moment?

One of the most litigious companies in the world can do something good with their legal team instead of going after youtubers.

It's so fucking hard.
I'm so conflicted on this game. It is great, objectively! It's looks beautiful, the main character is such a great design, I want to know so much more about the world and the story. The exploration is very satisfying, there's almost always somewhere else to go when you get stuck. The boss battles are so much fun - they feel impossible at first, of course, but after like twenty attempts I'll beat themand it's hugely satisfying.

BUT! FUCK THE PLATFORMING. I'm not getting any better at it! The "pogo'ing" thing you have to do still feels random to me on whether it's going to go the desired way. No matter how many times I do it I still end up fallilng to my death more often than not. I am aware that this is a "me" thing. I am aware that I'm old now and my reflexes aren't what they once were. My fingers and wrists are fucking aching right now, a couple of hours after I last played. I don't know how much more I can take before I just give up and jump into Hades 2.

I have BINNED Silksong* in favour of Hades II and I have made the right decison. I'm not going to outright says Hades 2 is a better game: Silksong is obviously great. I did have a fun time with it, in parts. When things were going well or I'd beat a boss after 12 attempts or whatever: great! But I just got sick of how hard it is. I kept dying to the same boss, but what made it worse is I kept losing health on the journey back to the boss every time I get sent back after dying. I asking myself "Captainwacky, are you having fun?" And the answer was no. Then I looked ahead and found that the next area would be even harder and I'd be constantly dying just moving about. It was too much, man. Hades 2, on the other hand, I don't mind dying AT ALL. I know this is an obvious thing to say but every game is different! Every run you have a totally different "build" and it's so much fun finding different combinations. I know there's some customisation in Silksong, but when I was dying it was the exact same every time, wheras the genius of Hades is that every game is different and you get better and discover more of the story every time. I have gotten to the second phase of Chronos (and died) and will keep on pushing ahead!

*I will go back to Silksong some day. It's too good to not want to finish. But I have to be in the right headspace, man.

Never play Dark Souls. The Capra Demon and the run back will not make you a happy bunny.

This is unexpected. I thought we'd get an all new Animal Crossing next year. 2027, I guess!

Not that interested in the update, to be honest, but might get the Switch 2 upgrade just so I can drop in on my island without charging my old Switch.

Still primarily playing Tetris 99, because I rarely remember to charge my fucking Switch Lite...

Porbably nearly done with Hades 2, but it's cool I could just pick it up anytime for a fun run. Will I go back to Silksong or just get Hyrule Warriros because it'll be much easier?

Brie Larson gets to play a Nintendo character, but it's Rosalina not Samus.

Speaking of hot celebrity women who love Nintendo -- this was on my TL just now, RTd from last June. I scrolled up and it wasn't posted back then...

The hate comments from jealous gamer nerds are something.

(BTW I'm sure Wacky saw this back then and maybe even posted it in another thread but the Search function is useless so I'll never know...)

I hearted it at the time but didn't post I guess.
She's been consistently posting about Nintendo for as long as I've known who she is so they can't call her a FAKE GAMER GIRL or some shit (but they will.)

It read more like a "rich star gets preferential treatment while all of us nerds who unbox and react and speedrun and stream for a living can't get free systems sent to us waaaaah" kind of vibe. But yeah, she's a real nerd too so they can't point fingers.
