He wasn't - that's what the post is about. He auditioned to play Picard's clone in NEM but he tanked it, and Tom Hardy got the role.

I think he would have been better than Hardy. He looks more like Picard at least...

The last episode of SNW is called tomorrows enterprise, people are loosing their minds thinking it will be Picard or Seven of nine, when it's fairly obvious the future enterprise will be just Kirk, and the same set.
