I'd go back and convince them to sign that magazine and give it to me, then I'd put it in a safe deposit box and travel back to the future and then I'd have a shower with Captain Kirk.
What method are we talking here? Terminator style time travel: forget it. BTTF Delorean style? Possibly, if I'm damn sure I've got Mr Fusion. Around the sun slingshot? I cannot do the necessary calculations.
If I did, it would probably only to position myself for sex with the finest redheads in Hollywood's history and collecting stuff that would rake in the monies. I'd be taking the current equivalent to Gray's Sports Almanac and you could bet big money I would be a chump like Biff and use it simply to trash my home town and make my teenaged fap material my wife.
Oh and I'd kill several people as teens with a sharp sword, clean beheadings.
On the plus side, if you've managed to go back in time once, then you'd presumably be able to repeat the journey if you accidentally made the present a bit shit.
I would go back to september 10, 2001 and call all the Jews in NY and tell them to stay home from work the next day. Then I would come back and troll the conspiracy message boards with "I know something you don't know" lol. Or maybe I'd go back to dallas on the grassy knoll and squeeze off a couple shots just to confuse people.
Come to think of it, if we develop time travel in our lifetimes, who's to say I haven't already done that? Haven't already will do that? Haven't yet to already do not yet but almost eventually that?
I reckon I'd go back to 1969 to watch the moon landings. Not so much to see the actual tv pictures, since I could do that now, but just to soak up the atmosphere and see what it was like to be alive at a time when a prosperous future in space looked feasible within that generation's lifetime. I suppose it'd be bittersweet, though, knowing how little progress there's been in terms of human spaceflight since then.
I would go to the secret enclosed set where they filmed the moon landings lol.
I actually have a limited commemorative set of 8x10s released at the time of the first moon landing. Got it at a garage sale, I want to have them framed. It's a series of shots in chronological progression. Sweeet.
