TNG Remastered

Fuddlemiff

Is this real life?
I'm certain there's another thread about this but the search function is like a fucking Mensa test and I can't find it, so...

Teaser reveals teeny bit of exciting footage!

You can see little people moving in the observation room! I think you could always get a hint of this, but now it's very clear. And Patrick Stewart's face is about to be scrutinised like never before.

I hope they do the whole series and then put it on TV again. It would be great to watch it all from the beginning.

*ejaculates*

I'm glad that I only spent real money on the DS9 DVD set back in the day. This won't feel like I'm buying something all over again when I start picking up TNG boxes.

But yeah, I'll probably buy the DS9 boxes again too.

Data has a robotic cock that satisfies!

REMASTER THAT!!!

It's cool that they're using the original model work, even though some of it is bound to look bad on the 'alien of the week' ships, which won't have been as nicely put together as the six foot Enterprise. Having to redo the actual effects on top should be a subtle improvement too. It's a bit like what Lucas would do if he wasn't insane.

Finally seasons 1 and 2 won't be mushy brown mess.

I don't watch much S1-2 anyway, except maybe Q Who?, and Encounter at Farpoint for giggles. The costumes and hair bug me.

I watch Skin Of Evil on an endless loop.

IT'S METAMUCIL AND PRINTER'S INK!

The first couple of seasons don't have many good episodes and aesthetically they are absolutely horrid, but hopefully the clearer, less brown picture will help a little. Nothing will make Picard seem like less of a dick, though.

I'm semi-tumescent. But wistful at the thought of how long I'm going to have to wait for DS9 to start rolling out. I need to see "Emissary" in HD NOWWWW.

I don't need an excuse to buy Blu-Rays, but I wish they'd be reasonable with the price, and understand that most fans of the series will by now have purchased this repeatedly on multiple formats.

They won't of course, but there you go. I'll rather wait 12-18 months after release, and then buy them all on the dirt cheap.

To be fair, a high price is somewhat justified for this as it covers the massive amount of work needed to get TNG into HD.

There is that, but like everything that is expensive on BluRay, it will rapidly come down in price. Example: Aliens Box Set - £18 at HMV. It was nearly £60 when it first released.

I got mine for £13 about a month ago!

The Encounter at Farpoint shots are a little iffy, as the aliens looked better when they were fuzzy and you couldn't make out quite how the effect was done. Now you can see it's a daft looking model. But everything else looked great. Especially the shots on the bridge. A real pleasure to watch. Can't wait!

I dunno, I think it holds up quite well. There's some interesting textures on it that don't really come across in SD. Of course how that will work for some of the other effects on the show...

But really the star is the details in the live action stuff. I mean look at the difference in Worf's sash:

Plus the fact that these are all from a 720p compressed trailer so it will look even better in uncompressed 1080p on blu-ray.

We'll be able to count the hairs on Picard's little tush in Chain of Command!
