The Green Day

Love Child

One Love
I was so Happy that St Patricks day fell on a Sunday this year. I didn't have to be at work pretending to find it funny when anyone asked me if I was wearing green.
But then everyone has to mention it on FB as if it means anything to them. Usually over here it is just an excuse to drink green beer and get drunk.

No one even mentioned St Patrick's day around here. FACEBOOK IS THE DEVIL.

I was house sitting/dog sitting. That is why I got to watch all these awesome/non awesome shows all week long.
I woke up early on Sunday and took the dogs out for a really long walk to make up for all the short walks during the week.
And then I watched Downton Abbey all day!
And then I slept for 2 hours and then we went on another long walk. I was 1/2 asleep.

Standard "why do Americans only care about Saint Patrick's Day and not Saint George/Andrew/David's Day?" question here.

Maybe there aren't enough Irish-descended people in your area:

The greener the area, the more Irish there are. WE ALL LIVE IN BOSTON!

boy those Irish got around!
not gonna lie, the green day is big up here....as is Robbie Burns Day. Guess who mainly settled way the hell up here?
....and funnily enough, a lot of ex-slaves who came up on the Underground Railroad to the region. What they thought of their first winter I can only imagine....poor bastards.

Yeah it looks like we Irish fucking OWN the country, but I think the darkest green means 10% or more of the population is Irish. So we kinda own, but not FUCKING OWN.

Everyone claims to be Irish! There are probably a lot more Catholics in the northeast, though.

There's probably just as many or more people descended from Scots or English or Swedish BUT APPARENLTY YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT EH.

^ I was hoping. PS I am Norwegian. Is there a similar map for that? I imagine Seattle and the Midwest to be most populated.

I mentioned Robbie Burns Day, MR CAPTAIN! :rwmad:

and sorry, Love Child, nothing for the Norwegians that I can think of other than putting cardamom into all the desserts at Xmas.
