The Big Fat Mine Field Thread of 90s Nostalgia

And since we're digging out music:

Watching the video, I wish I'd have done this for St. Patrick's Day.

Oh, and is there anything more '90s than Bjork, doing a song for the "Tank Girl" movie?

The First Rule of Fight Club is, you do NOT talk about Fight Club.

"YO, VIP, LET'S KICK IT!"

The 90s weren't a great decade for Broadway... good musicals were few and far between. But it was a great decade if you were a gay playwright...

Angels In America parts 1 and 2 ran in repertory over two Broadway seasons from 1993-1995. An epic, fantastical meditation on modern civilization seen through the eyes of a gay man with HIV, and the people who come into his life -- some gay, some straight, even some Mormons!

Stephen Spinella was the first actor to win two consecutive Best Actor in a Play Tony Awards for playing the same character in two different plays.

Here is the press reel that went out back then, it contains some of the better scenes in the play. A small cast of 8 actors played all the roles...

I recall endless commercials for Donny Osmond in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Yup - he toured North America with that show for several years in the 90s. He probably came to your area at some point if you saw the ads.

"WRETCHED SLUGS. DON'T ANY OF YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO PLAY FOR BLOOD?"
"I'm your huckleberry. That's just my game."

Future generations will never get to appreciate the brilliant musical stylings of Wesley Willis and his Casio SK-5.

Video arcades. How even every little gas station, laundromat, or bar would have a video game or two. I used to have the high score on the blood pressure one at the local Walgreen's.

We got Phillip Schofield doing it here. It was still okay to like him in the nineties. :(

I think it was Civ II where Abraham Lincoln of the Americans threatened to declare war on me if I didn’t give him Slavery.

That reminds of when ‘New K-Mart’ opened, a Super K, and they had one of those machines and yep we definitely all tried to max it out, LOL.

Can't have a 90s thread without Lighthouse Family.

Used to listen to Southern FM a LOT on our beat up radio while fishing on the West arm of the Marina in Brighton. Used to stop everything and dance around like dorks whenever this came on (which was a lot back then)

One of the only pics I have from that era fishing on the arm. I wish I had more. Probably circa 1996 or 7. My mother went ballistic when I shaved my head. This was a few months after.
