Suns GM 'certainly open" to dealing No.1 pick.

The Question

Eternal

Thus proving that basketball is a game for lower life forms.

And by "lower life forms" I don't mean dolphins.

PJ Washington will return to Kentucky after withdrawing from the NBA draft, while teammates Wenyen Gabriel and Jarred Vanderbilt have decided to turn pro.

Washington will be the Wildcats top returning scorer and rebounder next season after averaging 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds as a freshman.

Tyus Battle to play junior year at Syracuse. Battle average 19.2 points a game last season but considered by most as a second-round pick.

Battles return is huge for the Orange, who finished 23-14 overall and 8-10 in the ACC, but advanced to the NCAA sweet 16 after knocking off Michigan State.

Five potential draft steals who could break out in the NBA.

Robert Williams, Texas A&M (C).
A 6-foot-10 guy with a massive catch radius, elite agility and explosive leaping ability.

Wendell Carter Jr., Duke (C).
At 6-foot-10, 251 pounds he has a soft touch and impressive foot work, plus a 7-foot- 4 wingspan.

Miles Bridges, Michigan State (F).
Has the ability to defend both big wings and small-ball forwards.

Kevin Knox, Kentucky (F).
At 6-foot-9. Porter is arguably the most talented combo forward in this draft in terms of sheer ability.

Lonnie Walker IV (G).
One of the most physically guards in the draft.

Deandre Ayton after workout with Suns: 'I know I'm going No.1'.

Ayton through what he said would be his only pre-draft workout and expressed supreme confidence that the Phoenix Suns will use the No.1 overall pick to select him.

I know I'm going No.1

Ayton is a 7-foot-1 250- pound center

The NBA on Friday sent teams a memo indicating that "eligibility rules" for the draft may shift as early as 2021(but not earlier) as the league review issues "related to player development and the corruption investigation in college basketball".

The memo does not mention the one-and-done rule by name. The league and the players union could agree to scrap one-and-done before the expiration of the current collective bargaining in 2024.

Drafting a top-5 center? Riskier than ever before. Arizona's Deandre Ayton, expected to be taken No.1 overall by the Phoenix Suns, many of this year's top prospect are centers.

Slovenia teen star Luka Doncic has elevated to the forefront of the Atlanta Hawks internal discussions on the third overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

Doncic's 3rd overall pick reflects a league wide belief that Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley III could go 1-2 to Phoenix and Sacramento.

The Hawks have three picks in the first round--No.3, 19 and 30.

Kevin Knox miffed by teams line of questioning at NBA combine

Knox told reporters that a team asked him whether he had a child, then asked for the child's name.

Knox is a 6-foot9 combo forward and is expected to be selected in the lottery during Thursday night NBA draft.

The Miami Heat did not make a pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, primarily because of the terms of a trade that sent Goran Dragic to them in 2015.

It's the second time in the last three years that Miami did not make a selection in the draft. Miami was also without a pick to make in 2013.
