What happens to the Super Bowl gear for the losing team?​

Well, it doesn't just end up in the trash, thankfully. Instead, the NFL has partnered with a nonprofit organization called Good360 to find a home for all that stuff. And it won't just be 49ers merchandise that ends up in the hands of the less fortunate. There's also the celebratory swag that was ready in case the Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans won their conference championship games and advanced to Super Bowl LIV. Hopefully that provides a small bit of solace to fans of those teams and the rest of the league too.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo misses chance to quiet critics in Super Bowl​

After a season full of doubt from the outside, support from the inside and a whole lot of winning, Jimmy Garoppolos moment had arrived. The chance to silence those who dismissed the San Francisco 49ers quarterback as little more than a game manager at best and a modern-day Trent Dilfer at worst. Based on how the season had gone, of course neither was actually true, but if ever there was a time to cement his standing in the quarterback pecking order, this was it.
