Cassie, we get summer stuff growing, it's just very fast and short, alas. Strawberries are available two weeks in June (now!) and then that's that, for example.

speck, I live ON A BIG NORTHERN LAKE SOMEWHERE IN CANADA, so we've got the Great Lakes effect helping out the gardens. (It's also what gives us the bloody Snow Belt in the winter, but so it goes....)
