Scandal at Exisle: Shalamar Fired

After receiving the exact same form letter regarding a forced resignation as Shalamar, I have been removed from the staff and am no longer an Admin because I stood up for what I believe in - even if the new board owner has a different set of beliefs.

Also, I am no longer a member of this board, and that is entirely voluntary.


As a personal note, VKD, Spidey, Robl and GSMonks..... I think you are all crazy at times, but it really was nice knowing you all.... and I really do mean that most sincerely. Try not to get into too much trouble here and GSMonks... best of luck to you and the Genets.

Since Corwin snidely used Shal's thread to claim that they'd both been forced out, and he's never coming back, I guess we could take his word for it that it was a firing. However, Shal herself seemed accepting of the fact that she can't do the job with her medical problems keeping her away; she didn't react as if she'd been fired, but as if she'd given up trying to get back to moderating under the circumstances. (Although "personal reasons," including health, can definitely be used as a euphemism for being fired.)

But wait... I said on EI that I didn't care that much. Why am I caring here? Silly person, very silly person. *shrug*
 
Frankly, I respect Shal's decision to leave gracefully, whether or not she was forced out behind the scenes or not.

Corwin is just bitter that no one liked him.
 
Wow. I love all the people tsk-tsking Corwin because of daring to speak up.

I guess they learned nothing from Slipstream. They've become what they most feared. :(

I can see where you say that. Of course, given all the politics going on prior to LoP's inheritance of the Board Ownder position, there are several other factors at work here. Shal and Corwin were (are?) roommates so they know each other intimately.

If Corwin didn't decide to unceremoniously air that greivance in a thread that really had nothing to do with him, I think the response would've been different. It paints an interesting picture of him and Shal, even with all the garbage.

I am very disappointed in LoP - We knew that as soon as Kathy left he'd start kicking those out who differed in view point with him - but a form PM - not even the courtesy of individualizing it - and LoP prides himself on being so careing. I never had a problem with LoP as a person - he is a wonderful person. Any problems I had with him were in the end professional/proceedural *Shrug*

A big part of me stopped careing back when Rov sold the board without any notice to any one - including Kathy. I knew that Rov hadn't cared about the board in a long time but for him to do it in such an underhanded manner was hurtfull. And yes I have reasons for considering the way it was done as underhanded, but I'm not going to go into that.

I just hope that EI continues to grow and be a good place to be around, and not become some version of "TK lite."

what are these two bullshit 'philosophies' that were apparently behind the recent controversy?

is Exisle some sort of leftover cold-war relic board.?
