Would you buy a new GM product considering what happened with Saturns?
 
What happened? They lost a ring?
 
Depends on what kind of car they're selling.
 
Saturns are a fine product so are GM products. I looked at the VUE years ago, but the dealership could not give me what I wanted in terms of payment plans. I went with another option, but still a GM product.
 
At least they stop when you want them to.
 
^ Yep, because they stopped running.
 
The VUE backseat was a little small for my liking.
 
I have a 2008 Vue. Its nice.

I'm kind of thinking I'd like to trade in my 2008 Saturn Aura with less than 15k miles on it for a 2010 silver Chrysler Sebring convertible. It is spring, nice weather, and GM pulled the rug out from under Saturn. But, last time I had a Chrysler, while it was a fabulous and very ritzy car, it had a cascading failure problem that cost me thousands of dollars to try and save yet died anyway.

I don't understand cars except to put gas in them and to take them to the dealership for maintenance. I need a car that is dependable and the dealership gives good service because when it comes down to it for me, I buy the car because it is pretty, it feels nice, and it has all kinds of bells and whistles that I may not ever learn to use.

We looked at the Vue, too, but decided on a Honda Element for my daughter. She goes camping often. It has been a very good car for her. The Vue has a nicer interior but it has carpeting instead of that washable rubber flooring the Element has.

I've really enjoyed owning and driving the Saturns I've had. It really is sad for me that the next car I buy, which will probably also be the last new car I buy, won't be a Saturn.

Are you worried about GM dropping the Saturn line so far as service, repairs and such is concerned?
 
Anyone can work on a Saturn. You need to find a good dependable shop that isn't necesarily a dealership. Dealerships do good work, its just expensive, if you don't mind then that is good.

P.S. I have long legs-I hate riding in other peoples vehicles that I can't fit in-so I always check the back seats. : ) Thats my answer and I'm sticking to it-otherwise I am sure the VUE would be fine for other recreational activities.
 
Right now I have a 1995 Chevy G20 Conversion van. Although I love it so, its starting to rust out and is in dire need of electrical repair (mostly interior). As much as I hate to admit it to myself, soon she will have to be replaced with something more reliable. What I'm hoping to score is a Convertable Sebring. I've never owned a convertable before (mainly from fear of carjacking), but I've finally started to realize that you only live once.

Probably by the end of this year, I may be driving one....maybe!

No the local Chevy dealer is where I am to go now for any warranty issues. Didnt you get a letter from GM?
 
Yeah, I've never owned a convertible either. I wonder if I'd still enjoy it when it is raining, snowing, or just plain freezing outside.

I got GM's letter - which is good because I still have 5 years on my service contract. I keep getting all these calls and letters from other dealers about trading in my Saturn though. I'm worried my car won't have any trade in value when I do go to trade it in.
 
Yesterday was awesome. Went for a drive through the countryside looking at the bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes in full bloom. It was overcast but the rain held off till we were done. My friends drove and sat in the front seat, I sat in the back, the top down on their convertible. Now I want a convertible more than I did the other day. That was really nice.
 
Earlier today while I was at my old Saturn dealership that is now a Chrysler dealership getting my car serviced and inspected, I looked at a 2010 black Chrysler Sebring hard top convertible and a used blue Chrysler Sebring soft top convertible. The upholstery and carpet in the used one was just too dirty with stains for me to consider. My salesman (I've bought 2 cars from him so I call him mine) said they'd recondition the car and it still had some left on the warranty. However, I think since I'm not in a rush to buy a new car I will wait until he finds me a new silver convertible or one that is more gently used if the trade is attractive. I want a navigation system in it or installed too.

Found out that for the remaining two plus years on my service contract with the old Saturn dealership that was at this location, this now Chyrsler dealership will honor the maintenance. For warranty repairs, though, the car will have to go one of the remaining Saturn dealerships in the area but they will only be open until October. After that I will have to take it to a GM dealership.
