Or maybe it's short for I WILL LEAVE IT TO YOU TO SOLVE THIS PARTICULAR MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM, AS IT IS FAIRLY SELF EVIDENT.

No plurals there.

Also, someone saying they could care less can be just as cutting as couldn't, they just don't finish the thought by enumerating the conditions under which they would.

Eventually they will eliminate even more words from the phrase, and it will just be "care less?" making the last word sound like a question.
 
We humans need our brains to evolve faster to keep up with the way in which our languages are being honed. Or someday soon every word will be represented by "." and "?" and "!"

OK, we'll throw in "..." for a little mystery.

lol, mathematic is not always plural SO I CAN SAY MATH IF i WANT TO.
 
But British people shouldn't.
 
I often find myself saying "I guess" or "I figure" which is totally American and in some ways quite annoying. I mean, 90% of the time when someone says "I guess", they're actually quite certain of what they're saying and there's no guesswork involved.
 
I say "I guess" when I mean that I don't want to. LIKE when someone asks me to go shopping with them and I say "I guess" followed by a sigh.
