Boston has a long history of terrible governmental mistakes. This is the same city that commissioned an overhaul of its choked streets that finished decades late, billions of dollars over budget, and which collapsed on an unlucky driver months after it was "finished," all while doing almost nothing to alleviate the traffic stress.

Come to think of it, WR was all shamrock-riddled back when I dated a chick from there; something like 15 years ago. Who knows what it's like now.

OTOH, I'm pretty sure Roxbury proper is still Boston's Harlem.

I lived at Blue Hill av in WR when I was born, and then we moved to brighton right after, '54 to '68

Blue Hill Ave is still Ghetto Central, but West Roxbury gets pretty Irish around the Lagrange Street area.

It's been that way as long as I can remember, too.

I drive past it a lot, but I've never been. I've been to the one on American Legion a couple of times, though - I used to live in Forest Hills, right near it.
