A jury of five women and seven men has been selected to hear the first criminal trial of Donald Trump, who faces 34 felonies related to paying hush money to a porn star. The jurors, all of whom live in Manhattan, must be unanimous to either acquit or convict the former president.
During the jury selection process, the judge, Trump’s lawyers and prosecutors asked a series of questions to determine whether potential jurors could be fair, including their opinion of Trump.
Finding jurors who felt they could be impartial was a struggle at times; the judge excused two jurors after they had been selected. The selection process had a remarkable rebound and completed as expected. Here’s what we learned about the jurors during the selection process.
