I hope there's a bit more nuance than just Hank going around saying "what's with all these GENDERS today" and stuff (there probably will be, the original show was good.)
 
So I saw the first episode, I am going to assume it's a drama now and not a comedy, unless they just forgot to put any jokes in.
 
Are you sure you didn't watch the very first episode? Because I watched the Season 14 episode, and had plenty to laugh about.

"Did you know when you finish Netflix you get something called a wellness check?"
 
Not every episode is going to be a banger. I defy you to find someone who's favorite episode of Star Trek is "The Lights of Zetar"
 
I've watched a few episodes, it's okay. I don't know if it was ever a laugh out loud show anymore, more gently amusing and nice. In fact I seem to recall Luanne being the funniest character and she's not around anymore. It feels like Dale's actor couldn't quite do the voice right anymore and it's a bit distracting (obviously I'm sad he died, too.)

Yeah, it's just ok. Seasons 1-13 were good to great.
