Once at school they made a hot air balloon powered by lighted methylated spirits.

It went quite high, and we all chased it until it came down and set on fire, then one of my mates started stamping the fire out, and the teacher pulled him off (not that way) because he was wrecking it since it was only made of crate paper and tin foil.
