Wasn't about me so I stopped reading.

However, Rob was talking about shooting a laptop for christsakes. Not about shooting her dog, or something that could make a kid go crazy.

Also, I don't know if you've noticed, everyone here has backed off Natolii. It's obvious there are some real life problems and we all don't wanna send her off the deep end. At first we were making jokes, but after reading more of her stuff and her plea from her dad, I think we all backed off.

Keep the moralizing at EI. No one here at TK gives a shit, but we did back off when it seemed it was affecting someone in RL.
 
Darth, I think the bottom line of Rhea's post was simply that you have vulnerable people online that can't take the kind of abuse being dished out. People online aren't any different than people offline. Some have thicker skins than others. Some have personal crisis they're dealing with as well and ripping them at such times just aint right. People sometimes use the internet as a life line or refuge from the shit they're going through in their real lives. You take that away from them and you're doing real harm, way more than just tweeking them. I thought it was cool that ya did back off of what's her name though.

The laptop thing, yeah, that was more than kinda goofy but people do get attached to their possessions I guess.

First off, I couldn't possibly give a shit if you have contempt for me or not. That should be a given, but I have to bring the "don't care" aspect up from time to time for self-righteous shitheads like you who seem to think that what they say matters.

Secondly, I didn't use my brother-in-law...we asked, and he went along with it. He's a big boy who can make his own decisions. If you have a problem with him and his actions, I'll gladly pass along any message you might have. Until then, shut the fuck up.

Third, show me where I whined about anything, you reject from backalley abortion. After RHW's post, and after consultation with Jen, we decided that an apology was in order for crossing a line into causing emotional pain for a guy we both have some measure of respect for...unlike what we have for the majority of you at EI. That's it. Fucking deal with it.

Fourth and last, I'm not banned. I'm indefinitely suspended. That's different from a permaban, in case you weren't paying attention. I can conceivably come back if I were to promise to play nice. I'm not betting any money on it...but it's remotely possible. Learn the fucking difference, cunt.

I see these trolls as people who are looking for someone to play rough with. They advertise. When someone responds, the game is on.

Prior to the special attention, Natolii had made posts that sounded very much like she was able to deal with trolling actions against her board. To me, several of them sounded almost like a challenge.

If you don't want your house of cards knocked down, don't put it up as a target.

Still, I'm glad everyone backed off. The girl has some issues that a meaningingless fight won't help.

Now this is true. I thought she came on like gang-busters in some of the AQG threads, and it appeared to me that she could dish it out. I assumed she could also take it.

Now that we know she can't, she'll be in a no-fly zone, but in the beginning she appeared to be able to take care of herself.

And while a LOT of people might believe TK'ers are evil incarnate, that just isn't the case. I think some people comfort themselves by pointing a finger of disdain at TK'ers, but the truth is, most of the time, someone else has thrown down the gauntlet. We just respond. ;)

People who are so besieged by problems, and so unable to deal with strife should probably butt the fuck out of online fights then, shouldn't they?

If you have emotional problems, you probably shouldn't be a busybody.
 
I personally put Natolii into that special group of crybabys...like Drew and G1223...they wanna pick a fight. However, when someone gives it to them, they starting crying about how horrible their opponent is.

Take some time and look over G's posts...Drew's posts...not just recently but throughout their tenure at EI. I consistently pointed this out, but no one there seemed to listen: those homegrown trolls are worse than we were.

And that's something that's perplexed me: if her personal life is so rotten...if she's on the brink of eviction...if she honestly can't handle a one on one confrontation online...if her father has to swing in and stand up for her...Jesus, turn the computer off and handle real life first. EI can't be that fascinating.

Yeahsowhat, you make a good point about not everyone being strong and stable, but Nat's on the edge of dissolving and just keeps egging the problem on...there's a big difference.

For instance in the thread on rethinking DS's ban. Why the hell did she poke her head in there? It was unnecessary and superfluous. She's made her feelings known.

She just continues to draw attention to herself, when by saying nothing, she'd most likely just be ignored and left alone, which is what she claims to want.

I just don't understand that kind of behavior. If you don't want to be trolled, then you just ignore the trolls. Everyone knows that.
 
Because she wants sympathy and understanding. She wants her online friends to support her and her position. She takes comfort in the acknowledgments of her friends that they are on her side. It makes her feel better. Unfortunately, she is probably not emotionally stable and takes the tea and sympathy a little too far. She may just want everyone to fire up the torches and form a lynch mob to show her support. With people who are on the edge, there is no rhyme or reason, there is just illogical rage and irrational feelings. Just leave her alone and she's cool down. There is no need to inflame an already explosive situation with someone who is that emotionally fragile. Her father commendably stepped in as any parent would do when they can see their child is in trouble and asked everyone to understand what was really going on with her. She cannot help how she feels right now. Yes, she should stay away and not read inflamatory posts at TK, but you are not dealing with a person who is in control of her emotions, and you cannot expect someone in her unstable condition to react in a manner that you or I would.

I don't know about any of this first hand, but to push someone to the point where their parent has to step in is irresponsible.

From what I gather, many their view that place as a safe haven so when some of the people here went trolling there the pitchforks and torches were bound to come out. I'd have been more surprised if she hadn't reacted that way. That last safe harbor is under attack (from her POV) so the nails were gonna come out.
