I know Archi posted the links and suggested embarassment for Americans, but let's look at this seriously a minute.
The hype is that America shouldn't let Iran build the bomb. My question is, why the hell are we expected to deny another sovereign nation a technological advance?
There are no "rights" written anywhere, but does America have any say in Iran's "right" (I use that word very loosely) to develop weapons?
Now, as an American, I fully believe it is a bad thing - we all know what Iran intends to do with the bomb. But I think all this posturing is just silly.
LET them develop the bomb. LET them use it. Then we make their fucking shitpile of a country the world's first million square-mile mirror.
THAT has always been my position, and I am not embarassed over it.
Further, no matter what the UN postures, Iran will ignore it. Iran knows this. So the posturing is silly. However, America has to sound like it's doing something while allowing the Iranians to get the bomb - because we all know that no war will erupt over this issue.
NO ONE in America will want Bush to start another war, even if it means several million people get nuke-vaped by the Iranians.

I predicted civil war and failure of the democratic system in a society that has no word for "democracy." I predicted the election of fundamentalists when all the idiot "conservatives" were dancing and singing about how the iraqis were going to vote in a blossoming birth of freedom and equality.

Yeah, sure, I did predict it, and I know I wasn't the first to predict it, nor the only one at the time, but I was saying it back when the majority of the republican base was all war-supportive.
We have a limited number of very valuable soldiers. They're trying to nation build. What a crock of shit. Should have destroyed the country and left a smoking hole. They would have fought each other like now and we wouldn't be there to be targets.
