The only time I remember hearing it as "sauce for the goose" was in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, so maybe it's a Southern thing too. It's probably in the book as well, but it's been so long since I've read it I couldn't say fo sho.
I have never heard anyone say "sauce for the goose" but I have heard the other saying about gooses and ganders. Maybe people used to say it but they don't anymore. WE SHOULD BRING IT BACK.
