Cam Newton says he hid extent of foot injury, won't rush back
Newton, the 2015 NFL MVP has rushed for more yards (4,806) than any QB since entering the league in 2011, and he ranks third in NFL history behind Michael Vick and Randall Cunningham for QB's.

Goff, Gurley II lead Rams to 30-27 win over Panthers
Goff threw for 186 yards and 1 touchdown. Gurley II had 14 carries for 97 yards

Week-2:
Buccaneers use goal-line stand to beat Panthers 20-14
Tampa Bay got plenty of pressure on Newton with three sacks. Jameis Winston threw for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Week-3:
Kyle Allen throws 4 TD's, Panthers beat Cardinals 38-20
In his second career start, Allen was 19 of 26 for 261 yards with no interceptions. RB McCaffrey had 24 carries for 153 yards and a 76-yard touchdown run. TE Olsen caught 2 touchdown passes.

Week-4:
Panthers down Texans 16-10 dispite QB Kyle Allen's fumbles
Allen threw for 232 yards and the team over came three fumbles. RB Christian McCaffrey had 93 yards rushing with 87 receiving yards.

Week-5:
Jacksonville (2-2) @ Carolina (2-2) - Sunday, Oct.6

The defense that at times couldn't buy a sack last season had six, after eight against Arizona reestablish itself as one of the best units in the league.
 
Amid defensive changes LB Luke Kuechly remains Carolina's stopper
Kuechly needs eight tackles on Sunday against Jacksonville to reach 1,000 career tackles. No player has more tackles than Luke since he entered the league in 2012.

New York Giants QB Jones was a Carolina Panthers fan, born and raised in Charotte, North Carolina. Carolina reached Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2003 vs. New England.
 
If Christian McCaffrey is the NFL MVP, why aren't the Panthers better?
McCaffrey lead the NFL in rushing yards (587). No RB since the AFL-NFL merger has more yards from scrimmage (866) through 5 weeks. A RB hasn't been named MVP since Adrian Peterson's 2,000-yard rushing season in 2012.
 
Panthers don't need to rush Cam Newton back
In Sunday's 37-26 victory over Tampa Bay, Allen became the seventh QB in the past 25 years to win his first five career starts, including four straight since Newton was shut down after a Week 2 loss to Tampa Bay. Carolina is 4-2 after an 0-2 start.
