I'm not a huge Trek person at all, but I went to see Nemesis with a friend when it came out since he was.

Even when Data's character dies, mysteriously another duplicate is found. What a dick.
 
Nemesis was terrible. I could go into a detailed synopsis explaining exactly whey it was terrible but it doesn't even deserve the time spent panning it anymore.

They lost sight of what Trek was all about. Generations was a good movie despite some flaws and First Contact was a great movie. The rest have been crap and getting crapper with every installment.

You look at the final scene with Q and Picard in All Good Things and then watch a movie like Nemesis and figure it out yourself, Berman. :roll:
 
If they haven't been pruned, I'm sure we can find several threads with detailed breakdowns of NEM's failure on this space.

The story was so contrived, dull, obvious, hackneyed, one-dimensional, shallow, weak, flimsy, poor, mundane, basic, infantile, sweet, sour, pork & chop.

"I felt since it had been awhile, four years I believe, since the audience had seen Picard and company."

Not that I would have embraced such a move, but if they were launching a new franchise on TV, wouldn't it have made sense to start it off with a film? At least an ENT movie would have been forward-thinking on their part, rather than beating the near-dead NextGen horse with a crappy story.

It might have scared up a few more viewers for ENT, and allowed them to weather the storm of whining from the hardcore Trek fans (like me).

Oh well. Coulda woulda shoulda.

They could easily have introduced at least one Starfleet character with a bit of background. TNG did so successfully for Aquiel Unhari, Robin Lefler, Ro Laren & K'Eyler with ease. If they had done half the job they did with the latter two, everyone would have been happy.

I don't mind having Picard as the central focus of any story - he is Captain after all, but Data hogged to much run time for my comfort. Yes, I liked the character, but TNG's strength was based on ensemble.

Crusher & Troi were generally wasted throughout TNG's movie run, leading to accusations of misogyny. The guest actresses in both FC & INS got more run time than either female core character. It wasn't missed too much in FC, because that movie kept it's own beat with great energy. The same cannot be said of the others.
 
Worf's part in Nemesis was basically...

Drunk at wedding.

Well, considering he was the guy who wanted to fuck a hologram, and that was pretty much it after 7 seasons, it was a reasonable sacrifice.
 
And then there was Crusher, who...who...was she in it?
 
They even cut out the bit where Crusher says "I'll save the last dance for you, Jean-Luc" (or something) CAN'T HAVE HER SHOWING A PERSONALITY, OH NO.
 
Crusher used to be a MILF, but she lost it after genisis.
 
But I like how her boobs firmed up.

Oh yeah, I don't like the Star Trek movies at all.
 
I liked the part in Nemesis where they reused the plot from Star Trek II but with the space battle from Star Trek VI.
