Sources: Georgia Tech names Damon Stoudamire men's basketball coach
Stoudamire proved a solid head coach at Pacific, a stint that included a 23-10 season in 2019-20 when he earned the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year award. He went 32-19 his final two years and 71-77 overall at Pacific, leaving the job to join Ime Udoka on the Celtics' staff before last season.

Stoudamire replaces Josh Pastner, who went to just one NCAA tournament in his seven seasons at Georgia Tech. Pastner went 109-114, with the lone NCAA appearance coming after winning the ACC tournament in 2021.

J.J. Starling says he'll join Syracuse in transfer from Notre Dame
Starling averaged 11.2 points and 2.8 rebounds as a freshman at Notre Dame, playing his entire season as an 18-year old and being younger than several five-star recruits in the 2023 high school class.
 
Five ACC teams earn bids to NCAA tournament

*Winners of nine straight games, ACC champion Duke (26-8, 14-6 ACC) earned the No. 5 seed in the East Region.

*The ACC regular-season co-champion, Miami (25-7, 15-5) claimed a No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region.

*After tying Miami for the ACC regular-season crown, Virginia (25-7, 15-5) is seeded No. 4 in the South Region.

*NC State (23-10, 12-8) claimed its 26th NCAA Tournament berth, including its second under head coach Kevin Keatts and first since 2018.

*Pitt (22-11, 14-6) picked up a No. 11 seed in the Midwest Region .

The ACC’s current 15 member schools have captured three of the last seven NCAA Championships (Duke 2015, North Carolina 2017 and Virginia 2019), with 92 NCAA Tournament wins in that seven-year span.
 
ACC leads with eight teams selected to NCAA women's basketball tournament
Headlined by No. 1 seed Virginia Tech, a nation-leading eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams were selected to compete in the 2023 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State and Notre Dame also earned bids to participate in this years event.

It marks the fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament that the ACC has had eight teams selected, leading all conferences or tied for the conference lead each year. In the last six NCAA Tournaments, ACC teams have earned 47 selections to compete in the field, also the most of any conference.

The ACC also owns the most NCAA Tournament wins (105) of any conference since 2014. The next closest conference has 86. ACC member institutions have won three NCAA Championships and made 22 trips to the Final Four. Eight different institutions have represented the ACC in the Women’s Final Four.

Miles was named an AP second-team All-American as well as a USBWA third-team All-American this week. She finished her season averaging 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.

Florida State top scorer Ta'Niya Latson to miss NCAA tournament
Latson, a 5-foot-8 guard, is the Seminoles' leading scorer at 21.3 points per game, which is fifth-best among Power 5 players. She became the first freshman to lead the ACC in scoring.
