Arrow

Is better than or just as cheesy/soap opera-y as Smallville?

Was going to watch the first episode last week but I'm more of a Superman fan than Green Arrow fan.

So like TDK but with Green Arrow. They should've made a Batman TV series(instead of Birds of Prey years ago), I like him better.

I saw it on Hulu Plus. I'll give it a few episodes but the pilot was just a little too predictable for me. Are you saying this is based on a graphic novel or comic? If so, then maybe it should be pretty predictable.

I watched the pilot. It was okay. It had the typical pilot problem of being too rushed and shoving in too much exposition. But it definitely wasn't bad, the acting was decent and there were enough SURPRISE REVEALS to keep it interesting (maybe.) I like that they've gone down the "drunken billionaire burns down mansion" route with Bruce...I mean, with Oliver.

His sister is hot.

Watched the second episode and it was as decent as the first. I like how the bodyguard had pretty much worked out Oliver's secret by the end. If it was Smallville he'd take like four seasons to figure it out (then get amnesia.) The cop who just says "YOU KILLED MY DAUGHTER" everytime he sees Oliver is annoying though (and looks too young to be Laurel's dad.)

Sister still hot.

THOUGHTS ON RECENT EPISODES (SKY ONE PACE)

Huntress looks like a poor man's Liv Tyler.

John Barrowman doesn't look old enough to be Tommy's dad. Unless he's a stepdad or something. Good twist though.

The romance and family stuff is still better than Smallville but can drag the show down sometimes.

Until last week I didn't even realise Tommy was meant to be a billionaire, and now he isn't.

I am enjoying the show, and pilot episode aside, it dosnt look like they are censoring the violence.

Remember in the pilot there was a maid with the family who was all "Mister Oliver, I always loved you!" and it was like she was a proper mother to him then she was never seen again.

@Wacky: agreed; thought Tommy's "dad" was too young as well.

They should have hired Robert Wagner - he can play rich, louche and murderous - oh wait -
