Thread where I really pretend to care about the Iditarod

Mirah

I love you
Picture my voice such as that of Fred Armison or Carry Brownstein from Portlandia

"Hey! Did you hear about the Iditoroad? It started on Sunday? Yeah, it's really cool"

1,000 Miles!

That is amazing!

And I would sled a thousand miles, just to be the man who sled a thousand miles to be at your door......dinna din din...

Cool? More like COLD!!!

Yes!
Definitely cold! You are right CaptainWacky!
We are here in Alaska where the Iditarod has just started, but wait, what is happening? Go to camera 2-there is someone trying to pet all the dogs and give them treats and play ball with them. The Iditarod will not be able to go on!

Apparently there is a ceremonial start and then a Re-start? I have no idea what I am talking about. But before the end of this season I will be an expert!

Fun Fact,
Just kidding, it isn't fun at all!

I spent a summer in Alaska where Dewey Halverson and his dog Misty gave a presentation in the coffee house I worked in. But I don't have a picture of him or the dog because I don't know why-I was just turning 21 and not into taking pictures of cute dogs then.

Okay bib #32 had bells.

Also, the dogs look so happy.

I wonder if anyone thinks this is bad for the dogs?

I'm kind of getting into this now.

Bib #37 the dogs all had pink socks! Cute!

Huskies LOVE pulling and cold weather. A husky is happier strapped to a sled in the snow with a bunch of other huskies and turned loose on a trail than laying on some couch in a warm house.

2) Along with "Iditarod," there should be a town in Alaska called "Idunno." It would be on par with "Who's on first?": "Where are we?" "Idunno, Alaska." "Well, what did she say?" "Who?" "The person you asked." "What?" "I said 'where are we' and you said 'I dunno, I'll ask her.'" "Exactly." "Well, where are we?" "Idunno, Alaska."
