Damn, someone actually did a banner I like.

I wish I could remember what it was, but there used to be a site that you could plug in a url and it would enshittify the current site into some sort of Frankenstein late 90s motif, complete with marquee and under construction gifs and a guestbook, flashing gifs, the whole nine yards. That would be amusing.

Temporarily amusing. Those animated bats we use to have here at Halloween got annoying after awhile.

Recalling annoying assed bullshit... anyone else remember that ad on TrekBBS for the ringtone? Really horrid alien sounding noise?

A-ringa-ding-ding-ding-ding or something like that. I remember starting a thread titled something like "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!"

Some people started talking about ad blockers, and Lisa threatened to ban anyone who actually did.

Lisa can also go get fucked if she can. I never go anywhere without an ad blocker, and there are multiple reasons for that. Primarily, don't be stupid. If they can't curate their ads against malware, why the hell should we?

Yeah same. I love my Adblocker.
 
Malware ads were the reason I started using an adblocker. Now I use ublock origin and I forget there are ads sometimes. UNTIL YouTube went to war with blockers :rwmad:
