You should pick up the new BBC Music magazine (the one with Sting on the cover). It's got a wicked free CD with Copland's "Appalachian Spring" and Clarinet Concerto, plus pieces by Charles Ives and Roy Harris.

Really? Sweet! Thanks, Chuck!
I've got that new Copland stuff, that shit is decent. He's a great player.

Aaron Copland, silly, not Stewart Copeland.
Don't go anywhere near Rolf's Wobble-board version of Stairway to Heaven. I swear Ledzep aged 30 years the day Rolf released that cover.

BBC Music is about classical. I hate that they feel the need to put a cunt

I know... I was a little embarrassed bringing it to the cash register.
Sting is a great actor (in his own mind).
Aaron Copland, silly, not Stewart Copeland.
He's been dead for years. I worked with him in the 70's though :bigass:

Sting and Copland do not go together in my mind.
Also: Copland ftw.

Sting was on the cover for his new album of John Dowland songs.

don giovanni was great last night. the lead had a very powerful voice.
It's a strange piece, though. The Commandatore's big scene at the end is so dark & frightening, and don giovanni being dragged to hell through the stage was grim.
I liked that stuff, though, as well as the touches of renaissance stage convention that remain.
that was a pretty long opera to sit through for a weeknight, though. whew!

Oh, but of course...how could I have forgotten that you were Sting's personal black market dog vitamin consultant?
